Privacy Policy

Last updated 22 September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what Counting On You ("we", "us") collects when you use the App and the countingonyou.online website, and what we do with it. We built Counting On You to be used without an account for most of what it does, and we try to collect as little as we reasonably can.

What we collect

If you never sign in: the App works with an anonymous account created automatically on your device. We don't collect your name, email, or any other personal information — just a random identifier tied to your device, and whatever countdowns you create (title, date, colour, icon, photo, drawing).

If you sign in with Apple or Google (needed to own a shared countdown): we receive the name and email address your chosen provider shares with us, so other participants and our systems can identify your account.

If you share a countdown: we store who's participating (their display name and avatar), and, if the countdown is public, its title, date, colour, icon, and photo are visible to anyone with the link.

If you buy Counting On You Pro: Apple handles the purchase and your payment details entirely — we never see your card information. We only receive confirmation that the purchase happened, which we store as a simple "Pro" flag on your account.

What we don't do

  • We don't run ads.
  • We don't use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
  • We don't sell or rent your data to anyone.

How we use it

Strictly to run the App: syncing your countdowns across your own devices, showing shared countdowns to the people you've invited (or the public, if you chose to make it public), and confirming Pro purchases. Reminder notifications are scheduled entirely on your own device — we never see or store them on our servers.

Where it's stored

Countdown data and accounts are stored with Supabase, hosted in the EU (Frankfurt, Germany). The countingonyou.online website runs on our own server. Both are protected by access controls that restrict shared/private data to people you've actually invited.

Deleting your data

You can delete any countdown at any time from within the App, which removes it from our database immediately. To delete your account entirely — including your profile and every countdown you own — go to Settings → Delete Account in the App. This deletes your account, its data, and any photos you've uploaded immediately. If you'd rather request it by email instead, write to support@countingonyou.online from the address associated with your account and we'll delete it within 30 days.

Children's privacy

Counting On You isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we'll remove it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your data, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
